If so, you probably also want to make a great impression with your packaging, although you might sometimes find it difficult to come up with inspiration for creative gift wrapping.
Following are four ways that residents of our apartments in Denver can wrap presents so that they look like works of art.
PHOTO PRINT WRAPPING PAPER
Your local copy retailer can make engineering prints of the photographs of your choice so that you can use them for wrapping paper. You may also be able to do the same thing on your home computer provided that you have the right type of software.
If you’re wrapping gifts for a birthday or anniversary, choose photos depicting different times of the life of the recipient provided they are available. Baby pictures are excellent options for birthday gifts, while wedding pictures work well for anniversary presents. For holiday gifts, you can choose family photos, or, if none are available, you can use artistic photos of Christmas scenes to make unique wrapping paper.
MAP WRAPPING PAPER
If you’ve got a traveler in your life, you can pay homage to that interest by using maps as wrapping paper—particularly if your present is travel-related. For instance, if you’re giving someone a book on a country or region they’re planning on exploring soon, wrap it in a map of the area. Tie it up in loose burlap twine to complete the effect.
CUSTOM STAMPED GIFT WRAPPING
Using plain paper as the backdrop for creative stamping provides an excellent way to make homemade gift wrapping paper that never fails to impress. You can either purchase the stamps from your local craft supply retailer or make your own by cutting out the desired designs from foam sheets.
WATERCOLOR GIFT WRAPPING
If you’re artistic, wrap your present in a custom-painted watercolor that the recipient can unfold, frame, and display as a memento of the occasion.
