Nothing dresses up an interior space quite like a fresh cut bouquet of flowers. A summer flower bouquet is the perfect accent for the kitchens at The Apartments at Denver Place, which feature granite countertops, clean-steel kitchen appliances and generous dining areas.

Use these flower arranging tips to make your Denver apartment at The Apartments at Denver Place even more beautiful:

ARRANGING TIPS
Get started. Start with a large empty vase. Add your largest flowers first, then fill in with the smallest, airiest blooms. Finish by adding accent greenery and/or Baby’s-breath. Vary the heights and colors in an aesthetically pleasing way; however, be mindful of optimal spacing.

Get creative. While a variety of colors can be appealing, you might also try making a bouquet with all similarly-colored flowers for a more monochromatic effect. It’s entirely up to you!

Prime the stems. Once you have completed making your bouquet, lift it out of the vase and cut at least one inch off the bottom stems. Use an angled cut to maximize the flowers’ ability to absorb water.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR SUMMER BOUQUET LAST AND THRIVE
Water is key. Transfer flowers into a vase full of fresh room temperature water as soon as possible – ideally, immediately after you trim the stems.

Use floral preservative. Most florists sell floral preservative powder for use with flower bouquets. Using it can greatly extend the life of your arrangement.

Florist’s foam. If you wish, use florist’s foam to help hold your bouquet in place and help with keeping them hydrated.

Avoid temperature extremes. Place your bouquet of summer flowers in a location that’s not too warm, not too cool. Avoid placing it near vents or in direct sunlight.

Maintenance. To extend the life of your bouquet, add more water to the vase daily. Trim the stems a bit every three days.

The Apartments at Denver Place are already beautiful, but creating a summer bouquet can add life to any room. Use these tips for creating your ideal flower arrangement and help it last for as long as possible.
