BEST LOCATIONS TO SKI AND SNOWBOARD IN DENVER
Check out these awesome places to ski in and around Denver, Colorado:
ASPEN SNOWMASS
You’ll find four great skiing areas here, plus a lot of celebrity homes and some mega powder. The Aspen Snowmass ski areas are called Aspen Highlands, Snowmass, Aspen Mountain or Ajax, and Buttermilk. Views from the top of the Snowmass are amazing, and in town, there’s a ton to do as well. It’s a great mix of snow bums, celebs, high-quality skiing, family fun, and luxury.
ARAPAHOE BASIN
Arapahoe Basin (colloquially called A-Basin) is located right over the top of Loveland Pass. During the snowboarding and skiing season, Arapahoe Basin is generally the first place to open in the nation. This is generally around the middle of October, and the basin stays open until June.
ELDORA MOUNTAIN RESORT
If you’re heading out near Boulder, CO, you’ll definitely want to hit up Eldora Mountain Resort. This resort area has 600 acres of awesome powder and skiable areas. Just be careful because there are often fairly substantial snow storms around the resort due to its close proximity in the Front Range.
LOVELAND
When you don’t want to head far out of Denver, consider heading to Loveland. It’s old-school, and that’s what makes it a tried-and-true destination for a lot of the skiers and snowboarders in the area. If you don’t have a lot of time on your hands, consider skipping the traffic to other hot destinations in the Denver area and head to Loveland.
