1. ORANGE WINE

2. SAGRANTINO
This red wine comes from Umbria, Italy, specifically Montefalco. The tannins here are quite extreme compared to most red wines, which means this is one strong beverage that should be saved for special occasions. It’s good to serve with a meal heavy with proteins and fats.
3. WHITE RIOJA
In the winter, White Rioja is the white wine you’ll want to drink. It has hazelnuts, caramelized honey, and roasted pineapples, aka all the flavors of the holidays and beyond. What’s not to love?
4. VIOGNIER
Viognier is another variety of white wine, but it tends to have a more floral profile compared to White Rioja. That’s because it’s made with honeysuckle, tangerine, and peach. It may be a long time before the cold weather thaws, but at least your wine will put you in a warmer mindset.
5. CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Ok, so Cabernet Sauvignon is nothing new, but it’s a beloved choice for a reason. It brings out the richness and depths of flavor in mashed potatoes, goose, duck, and other holiday dishes, so it must be included.
